A GOLFING JEWEL OF NORTHERN SCOTLAND
Portmahomack (Tarbat) Golf Club is situated in the picturesque village of Portmahomack, on the shores of the Dornoch Firth. It lies just nine miles off the main A9 Inverness - Wick route which forms a major part of the “North Coast 500” - a new and exciting circular route around the Highlands of Scotland and named one of the top coastal road trips in the world. In close proximity are the historical towns of Tain (10 miles) and Dornoch (21 miles), with Inverness only 40 miles away. Located in one of the driest areas in Scotland, Portmahomack is well known in Easter Ross because of its scenic nature, safe beach and local facilities.
Uniquely for an east coast village, it faces to the west - producing spectacular sunset views.
Portmahomack Golf Club is a links-style, 9-hole course and offers an excellent golfing experience for players of all standards. The undulating seaside nature of the course and tight greens provide a challenge for experienced players, whilst its generous fairways make sure that social and holiday golfers are accommodated, too. The views take in both the Dornoch and Moray Firths on either side of the peninsula, providing a spectacular backdrop.

Booking a tee time is preferred but not essential - see our Home page. Members’ competition days are Saturday & Wednesday but, even then, access is normally available.
Clubs can be provided and push buggy hire is available.
Parties are welcome, no handicap certificate needed.

Portmahomack Bistro & Bar
Meet Lisa.
Lisa runs the Portmahomack Bistro and Bar based at the clubhouse, Portmahomack Golf Club.
Lisa and her team are very welcoming and friendly as they serve up delicious food and drink.
The bar is well-stocked and the coffee is expertly made using the barista coffee machine. Food is freshly cooked, is piping hot, and always served with a smile.
Lisa’s cheesecakes are legendary, and the scones, to die for.
Whether you want a pre-game bacon roll or a post-game snack/meal Lisa’s Bistro is the place for you.

Booking for meals is advised, especially during the golf season.
Occasionally, Lisa puts on Special events, such as Chinese New Year and Burn’s night with food tailored to the event. Regular fund-raising events such as race-nights and quizzes are worth looking out for.
Freshly-cooked Sunday Roast dinners are very popular, at reasonable prices. Booking is advised.
Fish Friday offers a great deal with freshly cooked fish and chips - currently two for £20.
